Great Lakes surfing is coming to the big screen with the feature film release "Unsalted" which documents the quest of a group of landlocked fresh water surfers and a few invited pro surfers as they conquer extreme icy winter conditions; ice-burgs and snow drifts in order to satisfy their passion and addiction to surf. Barbary Coast Dixieland Band
The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band organized in November of 1967 to play on the Levee in St. Paul, Minnesota. More often found playing on paddleboats in the summers on the Mississippi River, this Dixieland band will bring that classic riverboat sound to the Sheboygan Theatre. Rolling Stone calls the music of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy “retro hep-cat cool.” Big Bad kicked off the swing revival in the mid-’90’s with their appearance in the film Swingers and continues to carry on the tradition of the legendary big bands and orchestras with a contemporary flair. October 1 - Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra 7:30 pm
The opening concert of the 2005-2006 season offers a variety of compositions to please the entire audience. Guest artist John Aley performs Hummel’s Trumpet concerto in E flat Major. The symphony will perform Vaughan Williams’ Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus, a surprise selection of the conductor, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, a piece of music that many consider to be one of the greatest symphonies ever written. Franc D’Ambrosio 7:30 pm
Extensive training led Franc D’Ambrosio to the role of Sweeney Todd on Broadway. Franc left the Broadway stage and moved onto the big screen with his portrayal of the opera singing son, Anthony Corleone, in the Academy Award nominated film The Godfather III. Franc became the first and only person to ever sing Carmine Coppola's haunting Godfather theme. The film led to an audition that eventually cast him as the famed “Phantom” in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical The Phantom of the Opera, making him the youngest Phantom ever.
