"ARTPODS!" - A Multi-Media Dance Portrait
Friday, July 11, 2008 - 07:30pm Saturday, July 12 and 2008 - 07:30pm This work looks at technology and art at the turn of the 19th century in Paris and technology and art at the turn of the 20th century.
Our newest technology that has opened our communication process up through technology is “Podcasting.” So…as a reflection of our modern times Podcasting is used in this show to talk about art and technology. “Vodcasting” or…”video projection”…is the medium. The video will be projected and live dancers and actors will interpret and reflect the narrative and the visuals.
Some of the great turn of the century famous artist works that are portrayed and discussed in “ARTPODS” include the following: The Lumiere Brothers, (inventors of the first film)
Isadora Duncan, (The Mother of Modern Dance) The Painters: Picasso, Mary Cassatt, Van Gough, Degas, Rodin, Mattisse, Loie Fuller, (Multi-Media Artist Dancer) Madame Curie and Sarah Bernhardt.
Modern portraits of local living artists are displayed and discussed. The idea that we all in and create together in a community is reflected by gathering local artists of different talents together forming our very own Sheboygan “ARTPOD!”
“ARTPODS!” is something different...it’s inspiring… it will spark your imagination. It’s beautifully visual and educational…and yet it will tickle your funny bone too!
All seating reserved, tickets on sale now at the Weill Center Ticket Office or by phone 920-208-3243.

I Love A Piano - Music of Irving Berlin
Saturday, October 25, 2008 - 02:00pm and 07:30pm I LOVE A PIANO is an enchanting new musical journey spanning seven decades of American history as seen through the perceptive and hopeful eyes of Irving Berlin, a man whom Jerome Kern described by saying "Irving Berlin has no place in American music...He is American Music!" Six performers sing and dance to 64 of Berlin's enduring and popular favorites, I LOVE A PIANO captures the spirit of America from the Ragtime rhythms of the early 20th century through the swinging sophistication of the 1920s and 30s. From the sentimental songs that inspired a nation during two World Wars to the innocent optimism of the 1950's. Timeless classics, such as "White Christmas","God Bless America", "Puttin' On The Ritz" , and "There's No Business Like Show Business", do more than define the music of a generation, they define the music of our country.
Tickets go on sale to the public at the Weill Center ticket office or by phone, 920-208-3243 Friday, July 18 – 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 19 – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. after that tickets are on sale Monday – Friday at the Weill Center Ticket Office or by phone, 920-208-3243 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. Tickets $35.00 & $30.00 Includes all taxes and fees
