Weill Center launches Backstage Pass, an all-access live music experience
New series to provide intimate performances backstage for ages 21+

SHEBOYGAN, WI (December 11, 2018) – The Weill Center, a nearly 100-year-old performing arts venue will launch a new live music series called Backstage Pass this Thursday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at 826 N 8th St. This VIP experience invites guests to join the artists backstage, on the stage, for intimate performances, appetizers and cash bar for a five-dollar cover charge.

“We wanted to provide a different type of experience to encourage people who have never been to the Weill Center before to come and see what we have to offer,” said Mike Basch, Backstage Pass committee member. “This is an exciting opportunity to grow our live music offerings at the Weill Center and in our community.”

This Thursday, December 13 the Backstage Pass series will feature the Paul Spencer Jazz Band from Milwaukee. The band will play with their backs to the auditorium, facing the crowd that is on the stage with them. All appetizers, a cash bar and seating will also be on the stage, with room to dance. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the band to perform at 7 p.m. To enhance the experience, guests can enjoy a “jazz club” feel with a martini bar and themed appetizers - jambalaya and po boy slides. Space is limited to 140 people and guests must be 21-years-old.

“The Backstage Pass series is another great example of the vibrant live music scene we have in Sheboygan,” said Katy Glodosky, executive director for the Weill Center. “We hope to continue to build on this excitement and provide even more of a variety of experiences at the Weill for our community and our visitors.”

The Backstage Pass series was launched in fall of 2018 to provide a different type of performances to attract new audiences to the venue. Once a month on a Thursday, this series will feature an up-and-coming band that will play on the Weill Center stage with their backs to the auditorium, facing the crowd that is on the stage with them. This gives guests the opportunity experience what it’s like from the entertainer’s point of view. All guests get an all-access pass to be backstage with the band, complete with cash bar access, appetizers for purchase, seating options, and room to dance!
