Sheboygan, WI – David and Kris Garms with six of their children — Ben, Taylor, Leesha, Sam, Jayme and Caleb — will perform at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 5 at 4:00 p.m.
Since their simple beginnings of singing hymns in the living room to releasing of multiple CDs of their own, The Garms Family now performs at a variety of churches, festivals and events.
They travel full-time, sharing the Gospel through their beautiful harmonies and solid instrumentation. Their tours have brought them to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.
This musical family loves to weave Southern Gospel, gospel bluegrass and their own unique musical style to create a memorable concert experience. Each song is an adventure as they play over 20 instruments on stage.
Parents, David and Kris Garms, have always enjoyed gospel music. David sings lead and plays guitar, drums, upright bass and accordion. Kris sings either alto harmony or lead and plays upright bass and piano.
Ben, 24 years old, plays acoustic guitar, banjo, upright bass, bass guitar, electric guitar, and drums. He is our bass singer. Ben is involved in audio production, and he has recorded and engineered all of our CD projects in our home studio.
Taylor, 23 years old, is a soprano of the group. Taylor plays piano, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and tin whistle. She also writes many of their original songs and is the group’s website manager.
Leesha, 20 years old, carries the lead on many songs and adds harmony as well. Leesha is the official dobro player and occasionally plays banjo.
Sam, 15 years old, is an excellent drummer and has a special talent for harmonica and the electric bass guitar. He sings melody and baritone/bass harmony.
Jayme, 13 years old, is a polished vocalist, singing melody, alto and descant harmony. She plays fiddle, mandolin, cello, accordion, guitar, piano, mandolin, banjo and anything else he can get his hands on.
Caleb, 12 years old, loves to sing and is not afraid to share his powerful voice on stage! People enjoy his energetic performances and talents on guitar, accordion, and drums.
